March 15, 2025-- President Donald Trump signed H.R. 1968, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025 into law, extending government funding through September 30, 2025, and includes several key provisions for healthcare providers:

  • Medicare telehealth flexibilities extended through September 30, 2025.
  • 1.0 Work Geographic Practice Cost Index (GPCI) Floor extended until October 1, 2025.
  • Medicare’s acute hospital care at home waiver authorities extended through September 30, 2025.

Unfortunately, the law does not provide relief from the 2.83% cuts to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, which took effect on January 1, 2025. Powerback Rehab will continue to join with advocacy partners including Advion and NARA, to ask for relief from these cuts.

Powerback’s own Julie Wilkins, Heather McCarthy and Ian Oppel, pictured below, had the opportunity to advocate in Washington DC recently with a focus on the Physician Fee Schedule, Telehealth and Medicare Advantage. No one is more qualified than those of us working in healthcare, to guide and educate members of Congress about making decisions related to healthcare.
