April 17, 2025-- Two updates to the mandatory provider revalidation reporting process have been issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

  • Good news for many, CMS is extending their mandatory provider revalidation reporting deadline for nursing homes until August 1, 2025.
  • Additionally, on April 9th, CMS updated their sub regulatory guidance relating to Additional Disclosable Parties (ADPs), clarifying that companies providing rehabilitation services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language therapy, are considered (ADPs) and therefore required to submit detailed information about ownership and management.
  • CMS further clarified that rehabilitation companies only need to provide information if the SNF has not yet submitted their revalidation. SNF’s that have already submitted, do not need to revise their application to include this category of ADP.

This extension and clarification come as an estimated 80% of SNFs have not completed the process.  The original deadlines were 90 days from receipt of the notification and then May 1, 2025.
