The idea of requiring rehabilitation therapy once brought fear and uncertainty to Deborah’s mind. After facing significant health challenges that limited her mobility and independence, and an event that led to hospitalization, Deborah needed rehab assistance.
Upon arrival, Deborah required total assistance with ADLs, mobility transfers, and personal care. She relied on a wheelchair, as she could not stand or walk. Deborah’s therapy team worked exclusively to address her fears of therapy while providing a safe space to help her regain function and independence.
The staff at her care facility helped to honor her mental outlook on therapy without judgment and coached Deborah with a pleasant and joyful approach to hopefully turn her fear and uncertainty about treatment into comfort and trust. As her treatment went on, Deborah met her care plan with perseverance and dedication, and she quickly gained trust in her Powerback care team thanks to this collaborative support.
